The brains behind the musical genius that was Michael Jackson is currently in the hands of the Los Angeles County Coroner.
To assist in their investigation of Michael Jackson’s death, the coroner is holding onto a piece of the king of pop’s brain.
Pathologists are waiting for the organ to harden before they are able to conduct neuropathology tests to determine why Jackson suffered cardiac arrest, a coroner spokesman tells the AP.
Investigators examination of Jackson’s brain tissue will help to rule out any question of whether or not he may have accidentally overdosed.
The Jackson family has been told by the coroner’s office they are able to bury Michael without the missing portion of his brain, or wait until the tests are completed, which may take several weeks.
After yesterday’s public memorial service, Jackson’s remains disappeared. It is currently unknown when or where the Jackson family is planning to bury his body.
