With Michael Jackson’s autopsy report due any day now, law enforcement officials confirm to the AP that it was his doctor who administered the drug that ultimately killed him.
The official, who requested anonymity, told the Associated Press that Jackson regularly received the powerful anesthetic, propofol, usually to help with falling asleep.
Dr. Conrad Murray is believed to have given Michael a dosage of propofol sometime after midnight on June 25th, the day of his death.
Last week, Murray’s medical center and storage unit were raided by police, leaving him as the subject of a manslaughter investigation.
His lawyer, Edward Chernoff has said Murray “didn’t prescribe or administer anything that should have killed Michael Jackson.”
As for the unnamed official’s claims, Murray says, “We will not be commenting on rumors, innuendo or unnamed sources.”
While toxicology reports are still pending, they are expected to show that propofol caused Jackson’s heart to stop.
