If you’re going to wear fur, don’t count on having Pamela Anderson on your side.
The PETA activist is slamming Janet Jackson for signing on as the new face of the luxury fur label Blackglama’s “What Becomes a Legend Most” campaign.
“It’s disappointing. She has spoken out against fur before. I don’t know why some people stop listening to their heart. I guess some people get greedy, but it’s sad,” Anderson told Out magazine.
PETA Senior Vice President Dan Mathews has also put in his two cents, sending Jackson a letter questioning her choice to appear in the campaign.
“You and I spoke at length about the fur issue. You told me that you were always aggravated at photo shoots when stylists would try to throw fur on you and that you were even wary of wearing fake fur out of concern that it might actually be real or look real in photos and send the wrong message. You were very straightforward and sensible about it. What happened?”
Janet joins several other Hollywood A-listers who have appeared in the black-and-white ads for Blackglama in the past including Elizabeth Taylor, Diana Ross and Lauren Bacall.
In a behind-the-scenes video from Janet’s shoot, she says, “If someone would have told me later in life that I would be alongside such legendary entertainers, I would have never believed it.”
