Paris Hilton is just one of the a-list celebs whose home was burglarized this past year. But this isn’t the first time the hotel heiress has been victimized.
Everybody knows Paris Hilton…who she’s dating… even who she dressed up as for Halloween. But did you know she was also one of the millions of people who’ve fallen victim to identity theft?

That’s exactly what happened to Paris Hilton and a number of other celebs including Whitney Houston and Philadelphia eagles QB Donovan McNabb in august of 2007. That’s when some identity thieves allegedly used change of address forms and had all the celebrities’ mail diverted to a house in Philly. Using the information from the stolen mail, the address thieves were then able to order checks and credit cards in the stars’ names.
While identity theft can never be 100% prevented, Todd Davis explains there are some important steps you can take to protect yourself, including ordering a copy of your credit report, always using a secure website, and being careful what information you put on social media sites.
