The person who lifted $2 million in jewelry from Paris Hilton last month was somebody close to the actress, LAPD investigators believe.
Police say the robber was familiar with the layout of Hilton’s house and knew how to access her collection of rings, watches and necklaces, the L.A. Times reports.
Hilton’s bedroom was ransacked during the Dec. 19 burglary, but, police told the paper, security video showed a thief who knew the home and was able to quickly track down Hilton’s jewelry collection, including some heirlooms from Paris’ grandmother.
The thief wore gloves and covered his face with a hooded sweat shirt, according to the Times.
“I think whoever did this, definitely has been [in my home] before. We have some suspects that I’m thinking of,” Hilton recently E! News.
“I would tell them to please return my things, because I know that they’re probably watching. . . . The just have to anonymously have a taxi drop it off in my front gate in a box,” she said. “They won’t get in trouble, but if all this goes on for much longer, they’re going to get in more trouble.”
