Rihanna wants her bling back — specifically, the $1.4 million in jewelry she was wearing during the night she was allegedly beaten by her boyfriend, Chris Brown.
The AP reports Donald Etra, an attorney for Rihanna, has filed a motion asking that Los Angeles prosecutors return the $1.4 million worth of earrings and three rings that were seized from Rihanna as evidence in the case against Brown.
According to the motion, Etra and the LAPD detective overseeing the case do not object to the item’s being returned to the singer, adding that the photos of a bruised and beaten Rihanna should be satisfactory.
The items Rihanna was wearing during a pre-Grammy party have been valued at $1.4 million and are described as all made of “yellow metal” and all but one include “white stones.”
The filing also states that the jewelry was on loan to the “Umbrella” singer from four different companies, all of which want their items returned.
Brown has pleaded not guilty to the felony assault and criminal threat charges against him. The case is due back in court this Wednesday where a judge is expected to consider Etra’s motion for the jewelry as well.
