Ryan O’Neal pleaded guilty Friday to felony drug charges stemming from a December arrest.
O’Neal, 67, was busted at his Malibu home last month, along with Redmond O’Neal, the actor’s 23-year-old son with Farrah Fawcett.
“He pleaded guilty to one count of possession of a controlled substance, which is a felony, and needs to commit a minimum of 18 months to a [drug counseling] program,” a court spokesperson confirms to CelebTV.com.
“If he completes everything he was ordered to do, the case will be dismissed,” adds the spokesperson.
At the time of his arrest, Ryan O’Neal insisted the drugs found in his house belonged to Redmond.
His next hearing — a progress report — is set for July 10 in Malibu.
