It didn’t take much convincing to get me to go and watch Samantha Ronson perform at Chicago club, Angels and Kings, Thursday night.
For starters- AK is my favorite bar in the country and they always have a great crowd and celeb sightings/performances. Plus Samantha is one of my favorite djs.
Turns out Sam wasn’t going to dj… she was going to sing an acoustic performance! Twist!
To be honest I didn’t even know Sam sang, but then I remembered that she sang the main song in the movie Mean Girls.
The small venue was packed with fans to hear Sam, and I’ll admit that I was a nerd and stood right in front of the stage.
There were no Lohan sightings.. instead Sam brought along a guitar player.
Pre-show Sam was Twittering about how nervous she was and that she was seeking help from her friend “Jack Daniels” for a confidence boost. I love when celebs admit they’re nervous, it makes them more human and “real”.
Sam took the stage around 11:30 and the first thing she did was thank her fans- and admit that she was anxious to sing. Well she didn’t need to be… that girl can sing.
People kept yelling “We love you Sam!” and “You’re so beautiful!” and you know what? She really is. After watching her sing I have a new appreciation for her, and call me crazy but- I kinda get where Lindsay Lohan is coming from.
