American Idol producers are willing to shell out the big bucks to keep surly judge, Simon Cowell, around for one more season.
Cowell, who made $36 million last year to judge the reality show, has reportedly been offered somewhere between $100 and $144 million per year to return to Idol when his contract expires next May, according to London newspaper, The Guardian.
That kinda seems like one large paycheck for only five months of work, although Idol, which just finished wrapping its eighth season, reportedly rakes in a whopping $900 million a year.
Cowell’s multimilllion dollar three year contract with UK’s ITV for Britain’s Got Talent and The X-Factor also ends this year.
